Since 1996, in partnership with Indigenous, private, and public sector supporters, Indspire has distributed more than 75,000 scholarships and bursaries, valued at over $248 million, to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students through its Building Brighter Futures: Bursaries and Scholarships (BBF) program.

In 2023-24, BBF disbursed more than $30.9 million through over 8,300 bursaries and scholarships, the most ever in the history of the organization. Both totals are the most ever in a single year for Indspire.
Indspire Events
National Gathering for Indigenous Education

Last year, 1,700 educators registered to attend the 2024 National Gathering for Indigenous Education from November 20-22, 2024, with a record-breaking 1,230 attending in person in Winnipeg, MB, and 145 attending online. This represents an Indspire milestone as its largest and best attended event to date. Highlights were keynote addresses by acclaimed artist Patrick Hunter and Indspire Laureate (Education) Jan Hill.
The 2025 National Gathering will take place from November 19-21, 2025, in Winnipeg, MB. Registration is open and interest has already been keen.
Soaring: Indigenous Youth Empowerment Gathering

There are currently over 1,800 registrants for Soaring 2025, which will take place from April 8-9, 2025, at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, BC – the very first time this event will happen on the West Coast.

The 2025 Indspire Awards gala dinner will take place on the evening of April 10, 2025, at Canada Place in Vancouver, BC.
Over the last 31 years, the Indspire Awards have celebrated the achievements of over 400 First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals from across Turtle Island.
The 2024 Indspire Awards is available for on-demand viewing on CBC’s YouTube channel.
