National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – how you can make a difference
Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This annual day recognizes and commemorates the intergenerational harm that residential schools have caused to Indigenous families and communities, and honours those who have been affected by this injustice.
If you’ve never heard of Indspire before, it is an Indigenous national charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people for the long-term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada.
Indspire serves First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students in remote communities, rural areas and urban centres across Canada. With the support of generous donors, we disburse financial awards, deliver programs, and share resources with the goal of increasing graduation rates for Indigenous students.
Here’s how you can help.
In honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation I hope you’ll consider a gift to Indspire, so that more students can get the education they want to help on this healing journey.
As The Honourable Justice Murray Sinclair so thoughtfully said “Education got us into this mess and education will get us out of it.”
Support Indspire today and help Indigenous students achieve their dreams through education.
