Make an investment in today’s students for tomorrow’s brighter future
Indigenous students often face unique challenges such as: discomfort being outside their home community, cultural isolation on campus, and financial burdens. These are important obstacles for students to overcome, which is why Red River College and Indspire have partnered to provide $1 million in bursaries, scholarships, and grants for Indigenous students enrolled at the college.
“This financial support we’ve created demonstrates our commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action. There is a compelling need for financial assistance for Indigenous students who want to pursue post-secondary education. The Building Brighter Futures bursary we’ve created at Red River College will help remove financial barriers for students to support their educational aspirations,” says Executive Director, Indigenous Strategy, Rebecca Chartrand.
As a result of this partnership, Indspire was able to match Red River’s donation, which will enable over $1 million in financial support for Indigenous students and over 160 students to enrol in Indigenous Education programs at Red River College.
