What is the Soaring: Indigenous Youth Empowerment Gathering?
Indspire invites high school educators and their First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students to attend Indspire’s Soaring: Indigenous Youth Empowerment Gathering. At Soaring, students may explore post-secondary options through campus tours, engage in career workshops, explore an interactive tradeshow with industry professionals, and learn about Indspire’s bursaries and scholarships.
When is the Soaring: Indigenous Youth Empowerment Gathering?
Date: Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
Time: TBD
Location: Edmonton Convention Centre in Edmonton, AB.
Who can attend Soaring?
Indigenous high school students in grades 9-12 and their parents and chaperones.
Is there a charge to attend Soaring?
The gathering is free of charge for all participants. However, there is limited space, so please register early!
When is the Registration deadline?
The registration deadline is Friday, April 14, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. If you would like to register a group after the deadline, please email us at soaring@indspire.ca.
Where do I send my registration forms?
Please use the online form (coming soon!) to complete the registration process.
Important to note that we will only accept registrations after the deadline date if space is available.
What is the chaperone-student ratio?
It is recommended that one chaperone accompany every 20-30 students. We recommend that one adult chaperone (18 years of age or older) accompany and take full responsibility for the youth in his or her care.
How can I notify Indspire for Cancellations/Changes?
If a registered student or chaperone is no longer able to attend, the school may provide substitutes, but Indspire must be notified in writing by emailing us at soaring@indspire.ca.
If your group must cancel your registration, please notify Indspire by emailing us at soaring@indspire.ca immediately so that we can make that space available to another group.
