Presented by Tija Hauta and Autumn Koe-Schnell

The Indigenous Youth Reconciliation Barometer 2024 is one of the largest research projects of its kind, engaging with over 1100 Indigenous youth (ages 18-29) from coast-to-coast-to-coast. Through the lenses of empowerment, wellness, education, meaningful work, solidarity, and reconciliation, this project explores Indigenous youth priorities and goals at both the individual and community level.

This presentation will focus on how educators and educational institutions can empower and uplift Indigenous youth. Using interactive and engaging data visualizations, we will examine how youth conceptualize education and what they need to succeed in educational contexts across their distinct identities. We will also explore how creating space for Indigenous youth to lead program and curriculum development can support in improving educational outcomes.
