The rise of AI in the classroom is changing how students learn, acting as a helpful tool yet also posing a risk for over-reliance and error. The need for critical thinking when gathering information is even more important now, requiring checks of AI claims against real research. As experts in collecting and analyzing information to support informed decision-making, Waapihk Research will guide educators on how to help students assess the credibility, reliability, and truthfulness of information sources. Students will learn how to better draw insights through a combination of data-driven research and meaningful engagement.

Waapihk Research will provide a designed checklist for students to use when gathering information, to validate research and lead to better insights. If selected, presentation can be developed for a specific audience grade level, to best align with conference programming.
