Parkland Strengthens Commitment to Indigenous Learners with $100,000 Gift to Indspire’s Rivers to Success Program

Ohsweken, ON – July 29, 2025 – Indspire is pleased to announce a generous $100,000 contribution from Parkland Corporation, a gift which builds on Parkland’s existing legacy of support for Indigenous education and Indigenous learners in Canada.

Since 2023, Parkland has partnered with Indspire to support key initiatives including the Soaring: Indigenous Youth Empowerment Gathering, the Indspire Awards, and the Building Brighter Futures: Bursaries and Scholarships (BBF) Program.

The new $100,000 gift will sponsor the Career Transition Stream of Indspire’s Rivers to Success (R2S) program, an innovative free online program for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis high school and post-secondary students which is designed to support them wherever they are on their educational journeys. The Career Transition Stream assists post-secondary students as they prepare to graduate and enter the workforce, giving them the resources they need to successfully begin their chosen careers: networking opportunities, job-hunting tools, and access to transformative programs with partners such as Mila and BioCanRx.

With this new sponsorship, Parkland reaffirms its long-term commitment to creating and advancing opportunities for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students across Canada.

Mike DeGagné, President & CEO of Indspire, says: “We are honoured to continue partnering with Parkland in strengthening career pathways for Indigenous learners. Parkland’s new commitment to the Career Transition Stream of Indspire’s Rivers to Success program will help to ensure that First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students are equipped with the tools and guidance they need to thrive as they move from education into employment.”

“One pillar in Parkland’s ongoing commitment to Indigenous Relations, is the enhancement of Indigenous employment and training opportunities. We are thrilled to work with Indspire to help create new pathways for Indigenous peoples,” said Lyla Garzouzi, Senior Vice President, Corporate Services.
