Since the age of 15, Richard Peter has become an exceptional athlete and international star in the sport of wheelchair basketball. A staple player for Team Canada since 1994 he has traveled, competed, and won many medals along the way. Representing Canada at four Paralympic Games he assisted the Team in 2000 to capture gold in Sydney, gold in Athens in 2004 and silver in 2008 in Beijing. He is one of the few Canadian athletes to have been recruited to play in both Germany and Italy. Now residing in Vancouver, he continues to play wheelchair basketball and is an outspoken advocate for the sport.
