The Oil & Gas, Trades & Technology (OGTT) Bursary and Scholarship awards was launched in Alberta and in 2013 expanded to include studies in British Columbia and Ontario. This were made possible with the support of Shell Canada, Suncor Energy, Frog Lake Energy Resources Corp., Imperial, TransCanada, and as a supporting sponsor, Apache Canada Ltd.
OGTT is for First Nation, Inuit and Métis learners who are studying in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario. It is available to students studying or enrolled in training programs that will lead to careers in the oil and gas, trades and technology industries.
OGTT has two types of programs: the General Application for those pursuing full-time studies at an accredited post-secondary institution and the Apprentice where students are in an on-the-job training type program.
Students in their final year of an apprentice program are also eligible to receive an incentive for completing their program.
