Joseph Dion

Business and Commerce (2011)

Mr. Dion was the Founder of Dion Resources Inc., which networks in the areas of oil and gas development, wind power, forestry development, international finance and a variety of other business developments. He is the founding Chairman and President of the Indian Resource Council of Canada. Under his leadership, the organization established Indian Oil and Gas Canada, which is a super agency for the Department of Indian Affairs that deals with the regulation and management of oil and gas resources on Indian lands. He was a founding member of the Canadian Council of Native Business, now the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB). The CCAB is an organization that that utilizes the skills, resources and expertise of Corporate Canada to create business opportunities for Aboriginal people. Presently he is President of the Frog Lake Energy Resources Corporation, a company wholly owned by the Frog Lake First Nation and a private energy company that has grown steadily since its incorporation in 2003. The award-winning, progressive company boasts in excess of 2,000 barrels of oil production per day.
