The 2017 Indspire Awards celebrates the outstanding achievements of Indigenous Canadians whose stories of perseverance and commitment will be sure to engage and inspire us. Through music, dance, humour and storytelling, the Indspire Awards will be a night to remember on March 24, 2017.

Indspire is in search of responsible and committed people to assist with organizing, coordinating and setting up the production of the Awards. If you are interested in the following position(s) please send your resume to production@indspire.ca with the job title in the subject line.

 First Position:

 Audience Assistant Trainee 

 Wage:

  • $100.00 flat

Days/Hours:

    • Mandatory Orientation Session
    • Wednesday, March 22, 2017
    • 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
    • Location TBD

Indspire Awards

  • Friday, March 24, 2017
  • 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm (4 hours)
  • National Arts Centre

 Responsibilities:

  • Assist with overseeing audience and seat allocations during the Production of the Awards on Friday, March 24, 2017

Qualifications:

  • Professional attitude
  • Preference will be given to unemployed and individuals of Indigenous descent
  • Professional “Black tie Gala” attire required
  • Age 19 and over; Individuals must be focused and able to take direction

Note:  Employees of Federal and Provincial government departments and ministries are not eligible for this position 2017 Indspire Awards

 Second Position:

 Production Associate Trainee (looking for 15 people)

 Wage:

  • $11.40 per hour

Days/Hours:

  • Mandatory orientation sessions date and times are TBD

 Responsibilities:

  • Chosen individuals will be placed into various production departments such as administration, hair, makeup and wardrobe as well as talent and/or recipient coordination.
  • Individual will report to their respective department during show week.

Qualifications:

 Administration

  • Create charts, print and photocopy
  • Set up and tear down of production office
  • Filing, expense forms
  • Run errands and assist with disseminating of information for the entire production
  • Computer knowledge is an asset

Talent and Recipient Coordination

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are an asset for these positions

Hair/Makeup/Wardrobe

  • Run errands for the department
  • Assist with organizing their schedule and materials for the Production
  • Organizational skills are considered an asset for this position

Trade Qualifications:

  • None is required
  • Experience in the TV, Film and or theatre is a bonus
  • Age 19 or over
  • Individuals must be focused and able to take direction

Third Position:

Office Production Assistant (PA)

 Wage:

  • $150 per day (8 hours)

Days/Hours:

  • March 19 to March 25, 2017

Responsibilities:

The Office Production Assistant is engaged by the Producer and works directly with the Production Coordinator. The Office PA performs the duties requested by the Production Manager or Production Coordinator. Duties may include but are not limited to: photocopying, answering telephones, distribution of office paper work, filing and running errands.

Qualifications:

 Administration

  • Create charts, print and photocopy

  • Run errands and assist with disseminating of information for the entire production
  • Computer knowledge is an asset

Trade Qualifications:

  • None is required
  • Experience in the TV, Film and or theatre is a bonus
  • Age 19 or over
  • Individuals must be focused and able to take direction

Note:  Employees of Federal and Provincial government departments and ministries are not eligible for this position
