The following temporary employment opportunity is intended to introduce a voluntary self-identified Aboriginal applicant, who is either a student or recent graduate, to this job category at PotashCorp. This student position is offered in addition to other employment opportunities through the company’s regular student hiring program.
This temporary role is a full-time position anticipated between May 2017 and September 2017.
Should the candidate be a Mechanical Engineering student, he or she will report to the Chief Maintenance Engineer (Mill) and will work closely with other engineering personnel. The successful candidate will be actively involved in a wide range of engineering functions including the following; piping distribution system designing and field verification, assisting with maintenance and planning and execution, steel designing and providing miscellaneous engineering support, as needed.
Should the candidate be an Electrical Engineering student, he or she will report to the Mill Electrical Engineer and will work closely with other engineering personnel. The successful candidate will be actively involved in a wide range of engineering functions including the following; electrical distribution system designing, assisting with electrical system maintenance and planning and execution, providing PLC code design and modification and providing miscellaneous engineering support, as needed.
The successful candidate must be an undergraduate or recent graduate from an Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program. Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills are required. A competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and prior knowledge or exposure to electrical distribution system design or maintenance would be an asset.
The successful candidate may be required to undergo a background check. All safety sensitive positions require a substance test in accordance with PotashCorp policy.
