Thanks to the support of hundreds of generous Canadians, we are proud to report that we have not only reached, but exceeded our $150,000 goal, raising $153,000 in support for Indigenous education!

This year, in celebration of National Aboriginal Day and recognition of the 150th anniversary since Canada’s Confederation, more than 400 Canadians supported Indspire with gifts that will be matched by Penny and Bill Eakin, long time donors to Indspire, and then again by the Government of Canada. This means that $600,000+ will support talented Indigenous students to dream big about their post-secondary education.

These gifts are truly making a difference. Here’s what just one grateful recipient shared about how much donor support has meant to him.

“None of my dreams are possible without financial support like the money that I have received from you. Thank you so much for your generous support. Rest assured that I will work very hard to make sure that I am earning what you have provided me with in order to achieve my goals.” Josh Butcher, Third-year medical student at the university of Saskatchewan

Thanks to the commitment of so many Canadians to closing the gap in Indigenous education and to their support of the Building Brighter Futures program, Indspire is now able to provide even more bursaries, scholarships and awards to First Nation, Inuit and Métis students. Our supporters have created a brighter future for them and for Canada.
