Indspire exceeded its $20 million fundraising target for the Building Brighter Futures Campaign, raising over $24 million for bursaries and scholarships for First Nation, Inuit, and Métis students.
Through the campaign, donations to Indspire from corporate, provincial, and private partners were matched through a commitment from the Government of Canada’s Economic Action Plan 2013. More than 8,000 bursaries and scholarships were awarded to Indigenous students in need across Canada.
“We would like to thank our many corporate and government partners and individual donors for their tremendous support and for taking a leadership role in closing the gap in Indigenous education. When Indigenous youth get the financial support they need to complete their education, they thrive personally, enrich their communities, and contribute to Canada’s overall economic and social well-being.”
– Roberta Jamieson, President & CEO, Indspire
Indspire thanks its growing list of partners who are making a significant impact on Indigenous education.
For their commitment and support, we thank our Building Brighter Futures Campaign cabinet members.
